This attack was carried out on the main building of Shajareh Tayyebeh School, located near Resalat Street in the city of Minab, Hormozgan Province. (Some reports had stated that this school was located in Al-Mahdi Township, which, based on satellite data, is false.) As is evident in the images, the school wall is completely separated from the adjacent sections, and the walls are painted with designs specific to schools. Based on satellite imagery, this compound has been demarcated separately since at least 2016.

Based on the data recorded from aerial imagery, in the vicinity surrounding this school, there is a public clinic, a playground, and several commercial units.

Based on local reports, this compound and the surrounding compounds were previously affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to these images, there are several guard towers and various exits; however, with the passage of time, both the exits and the guard towers have been removed, and new walls have been added to the interior of the compound. Based on satellite data and field observations, the distance from the school building to the nearest structure within that compound is approximately 100 meters.

Based on the registration date of this school, eyewitness accounts and reports from local residents of the area, and cross-referencing with satellite imagery, approximately ten years ago this building was converted into an educational facility (school), and since that time, the school has been conducting educational activities.
The clinic building, according to official reports and news images from Dey 26, 1403 [January 15, 2025], was officially inaugurated by IRGC commanders under the name Shahid Absalan Clinic, which is considered among the buildings protected under the Geneva Conventions. This building has been providing general medical services to the public since that time.
